Welcome to the Occasions Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek with the Creation Station design team!
That’s right – you’ve been waiting for it; it’s almost here – the new holiday Occasions catalogue! Of course, as demonstrators, we’ve received our pre-order stamp sets, punches, framelits, embossing folders, etc., and have been putting together some samples to share with you! I just love everything that’s in this catalogue – and I thought that the last holiday catalogue couldn’t be beat!
As you get started, you’ll notice that each blog has a ‘next’ and ‘back’ button at the bottom; this is because we’ve linked our blogs together, so as long as you keep traveling in 1 direction, you’ll get to see all of the blogs, and all of the fabulous projects we’ve created to tease – er, inspire, you!
So let’s get started!! Technically, my post if the last in line for the tour, if you’ve been traveling via the ‘next’ button; if so, then you’ve come from seeing Dena Renkow’s fabulous projects! My first card uses a new framelit set, as well as a coordinating stamp set:
As soon as I saw this bundle when we previewed the catalogue, I knew it would be at the top of my ‘must have’ list! The stamp set is called Jingle All the Way, and the coordinating Edgelits set is called Sleigh Ride Edgelits set – and of course you can purchase them as a bundle, and save 15%! The Edgelit set comes with the 3 that you see here; the horse & sleigh; the trees and the row of houses. I used the stamp set (which has 13 stamps) for the sentiment and the snowflakes. I really like how the sentiments are slightly curved, to follow the curve of the hills.
I cut the edgelits using my Big Shot with Whisper White cardstock, and layered the cardstock to give added dimension. I sponged the edges of the horse & sleigh with Smoky Slate ink using a Sponge Dauber, and sponged the trees using Pear Pizzazz ink. To create the ‘glow’ of lights in the house windows, I traced the shapes of the houses onto Crushed Curry cardstock, cut them out using Paper Snips, and glued them to the back of the houses using the new Fine Tip Glue Pen (you’re going to LOVE using this new glue for small items!). Before layering all of the die cuts onto a card base of Soft Sky cardstock, I stamped the snowflakes using the White Craft Ink and the image from the Jingle all the Way stamp set. The stars are Crushed Curry cardstock, die cut using the Big Shot and the Mini Treat Bags Thinlits dies.

This is my first card using this set – and I know I’ll be making many more, with all the different variations this set offers!
For my next card, I went with a hallowe’en theme, using a new embossing folder and stamp set.
This card uses the Woodlands Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and the Among the Branches stamp set – again, you can purchase these 2 items together as a bundle, and save 15%! (gotta love a great deal on the things you want!)
I cut a panel of Basic Grey cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Woodlands embossing folder. I’ve been wanting an embossing folder with trees like this for ages – see, if you wish hard enough, it will come true! I then inked up the owl, crow and spooky eyes images in the new Archival Basic Grey ink and stamped them – well, Among the Branches! 
I then added 1/2 of one of the fabulous new Spider Web Doilies to the bottom right corner, again using the great new Fine Tip Glue Pen, then layered a banner of Silver Glimmer Paper and Crochet Trim on top. I then stamped the sentiment (which comes with the eyes as part of it) in Pumpkin Pie ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and punched it out using the 2″ Circle Punch. I layered it over top of the spider web doily using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

If this doesn’t make you say “eeek”! in glorious glee, I don’t know what will!! This is called the Witching Decor Project Kit – and you in the kit you get everything you need to put together this amazing witch’s hat! (okay, you will need your own ink, adhesive and stamp set – but you’ll have so many left overs to make additional projects, you won’t care!) I didn’t have the coordinating stamp set that you can purchase for making the tag on the front (the tag pieces all come in the kit), so I used a retired stamp.
This hat is quite sturdy, and the base is quite thick, so I’m confident that after this hallowe’en I can store it safely, and reuse it again for years to come.
